Art Bodies

I feel pretty awful that I am just getting around to posting this as it is a project I completed two years ago!! I entered an exhibit hosted by Wild Earth Gallery in Elizabethtown, KY titled "Art Bodies".

They will be hosting another this fall and if we are still living in the area I intend to enter again. I haven't decided what exactly my body of art will be yet, but I love how these works turned out.

I was able to purchase the body pictured above and the head on the table was donated to my cause by a local wig shop.

This is the second body I found from a local clothing store at the mall. I got a great deal on both mannequins

I recruited another artist, Brandy Haas, to collaborate on body #2. She is a super creative lady. She contributed the head (a gourd) and helped with covering parts of the lower body.

At this point I hadn't fully committed to he idea of two bodies, but began to play around with design ideas.

Paper mache is always a win! 

I made my own wheat paste.
